Living in the Southwest there are numerous applications for a good medium duty hammer drill like this. Concrete and block walls, slab construction, stucco etc. I have only had the drill for a short time but so far the Bosch quality has proven true. I have been buying recon tools for several years now and it is the only way to go. Once you have used a piece of equipment one or two times it would be hard to tell whether it was new or recon back on day one. Back to the drill...it has performed well for the couple of uses thus far. Melted through a cement block/stucco wall with a bosch 7/8"X12" bit, and set several lag screws into the same wall. If I run into any problems I will report back...

26 years as a mason, these little units do a good job as long as you don't work them too hard. The size and power can't be beat, just wish they were as durable as larger units. They are worth every penny, when you need a smaller, lightweight tool.

Took it out of the box and drilled four 3/8"anchors into concrete pillar from the top of the ladder.....Zip Zip Zip Zip. Moved to the ground concrete and sank four 5/8" x 7" anchors...smooth as butter.

It is being used to dismantle and take down a large brick chimney and fireplace. It is working very well and we are very pleased with its performance. We had a concern about purchasing a reconditioned product but it has the same warranty as a full priced new one. It was ordered Sunday evening and it was delivered 5 days later. Absolutely no complaints about the tool, the chisels, or the ordering and delivery process. The company kept us informed when it was shipped and what the expected delivery was. Everything went very smoothly.

I analyzed this purchase, and went back and forth between a hammer drill and a rotary drill. I liked the idea of getting an inexpensive hammer drill, but most reviews on the common items let me to believe those types of drills do not last. And, I already have enough drills in the shop. When I got to the Bulldog extreme rotary drill, I thought this looked like a serious tool! Would it be overkill? Did I need that much tool just to drill some Tapcons? The Refurb pricing was very attractive, and really, I love tools. You can also hammer in rebar with this tool, which means it does something unique, so I went ahead and bought it. This thing drills concrete like butter. The way a regular drill goes through wood is how this goes through concrete. What took forever to do before, now takes seconds. I had wondered if the non-extreme bulldog would have been enough, and judging how the extreme works, I'd say the lesser bulldog would be fine too, but for $30 more, I got the extreme. I can see this is a tool that will be well used for years. And the refurb is a great way to get great tools at a bargain price. Aside from some dust and a little dirt here and there, it was hard to distinguish this tool from new.

I purchased a 1 1/8" SDS plus bit for which this drill is even rated at. I would want to use it to drill a 100 holes with it, but it worked great once. The drill seems to be very nice quality. My was refurbished, but I couldn't tell the difference to a new one.
