When you think about it, most wood projects eventually end with sanding and finishing, and we all need to complete our projects, right? I debated with myself many times about whether I needed ANOTHER sander. I have 3 or 4 palm sanders and a belt sander and really wondered if another sander would help or hinder.
The Bosch came in the mail and a couple of days later my daughter asked me to make a very crude base for her 2 foot high Christmas tree. The original plastic base had been lost so I grabbed a a very ugly scrap piece of 2X4 , drilled a hole in it for the small tree trunk to fit in and thought this would be a good time to 'baptize' my new sander. Long story short, I still have a smile on my face. It cut through the ugliness of that 2X4 like nothing I have ever seen and more importantly, it did it with ease. It is very powerful, almost intimidating when you use it for the first time but now that I am used to it, it is the sander to 'go to'. I am very glad I took the plunge . The price scared me at first but I will get over it.

This machine will do all your finish sanding, some rough work and re-finishing/paint removal. I rarely use a Belt Sander anymore.
When hooked to a vacuum it is virtually dustless. It is built to last.

We manufacture corian and woodworking and this is one of the best random orbitas we own. we use porter cable, festool and this is as good as the festool. but we will see how it holds up to every day use. It is worth the money.

I was a contractor, but now I'm retired. I'm using the sander to prepare my 1929 home for painting. I needed something to aggressively remove old paint. For the heavy stuff I use a heat gun and then clean up with the sander. I considered the Festool sander, but didn't want to pay almost $500. I'm glad I discovered the Bosch tool at half the price. I've had good luck with Bosch in the past and the sander is no exception. I look forward to using it on boat bottoms.

This is a seriously good sander. Had a Porter Cable that was similar for several years, worked well but failed when I was starting a large project. This sander is much better than the Porter Cable. Much smoother and easer to use. Just finished sanding a deck that I had stripped and was left with furry surface. The Bosch sander made it look like new with very little effort. If you are looking for a fine sander that does an excellent job and will last for years this is the sander for you.

I use this great tool for boat work. Easier to use than a conventional rotary sander/polisher. Risk of damaging surface is less but the tool is still quite aggressive. Light enough to use long periods. Highly recommend.
