I have wanted a power planer for quite some time and bought this when belt sanding rough and high areas on my deck was taking too long. This mowed down the imperfections like a hot knife through butter. Even when taking a full width cut, the Bosch 1594K did not even complain.
Additionally, I've found buying these reconditioned tools are a far better value than buying new.

I have had my 1594 for several years without any problems. I use at least weekly in my business of window restoration. It allows me to do work on customer location that would not be possible without. It has been a reliable, hardworking, consistent performer. The dust collection is great. I use it attached to a Fein TurboII vacuum with HEPA filter. The Woodrazor carbide blades hold up extremely well and they are reversible. Takes only a minute or two to change. I am buying a 2nd.

With sharp blades this planer produces a fine finish. However, I had to tweak the milled aluminum base in order to get it to do this. The base was distorted a little and wasn't in a truly flat plane. It took maybe an hour of hand scraping to get a perfect plane. Now the planer doesn't rock sideways and it's a pleasure to use.

After doing some research, I decided this Bosch was probably the best bang for my buck...and it is. The guide fence alone is worth its weight in gold. This is my third or fourth reconditioned purchase, and I have not been disappointed yet. No problems with the dust bag other than it fills quick. The cut is smooth and accurate. I would give it five stars other than the fact that when the guide fence is attached, the planer becomes a bit clumsy to set down. Other than that, this bad boy makes planing an edge a quick and easy task. You can't go wrong with this tool.

Great design with the Left or Right ejection ports. The balance and feel are great and the variable angle fence has already come in handy.
Very well built... it should outlast me.

I haven't actually used the planer as yet. Powered it up to make sure it was operational. It sounds powerful and looks like brand new. The manual said a vacuum cleaner adapter attachment was included but none was included with my planer. Guess I will use the all purpose handyman tool Duct Tape. [...] I would recommend this tool and CPO to all.
