Bought chiefly to use as a portable dust collection system for power tools such as table saw/miter saw/etc. I like the size and features. It is definitely a high quality, professional-grade vac and the price reflects that (especially considering you don't get any tools with it, just a dust collection hose and a couple adapters). The stability/wheels are the first thing I noticed aside from the convenient sturdy carrying handle. The wheels are high quality and this vac is stable-should have no issues tipping over-leaps ahead compared to the shop vac plastic casters. Everything else on the vac reflects this build quality from the higher quality rubber jacket of the long power cord to the chain used to attached the drain plug to the thicker plastic collection bin The power tool activation plug is a great feature I've seen on these higher end vacs. I really like it and have it hooked up with a multi-outlet cord and 2 hoses so I can fire up either the miter or table saw and not have to change plugs/move hoses. I haven't needed to lower the power distribution setting below max (11 amps) on a 20 amp outlet with a 15 amp GFCI cord even while using saws rated at 15 amps, which was kind of suprising. I probably wouldn't try using both saws at the same time though. The dust shake-out feature is a little startling the first time you hear it but seems to do the trick at keeping the filters clean. Haven't tried it on other dust collection yet such as sanding or drilling in masonry with the DeWalt rotary hammer dust kit but am planning on doing that soon.

This is not the dust collector touted in a recent, usually on spot wood magazine. No, I didn't expect for the machine to provide a dust free environment. However, I did expect more overall dust collection than that which actually occurred.
